A wall-mounted diorama of an old coral-stone house courtyard — the veranda front that once lined the lanes of Malé. The study keeps the carved timber doors, the plastered hirigaa wall with its lattice panel, and the shade of a single tree that made the yard livable through the hot part of the day. The blue bench, red cushion and woven mat are modelled from the household objects still found in the old wards.
